Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (for coating)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp salt (for coating)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, beaten egg, minced garlic, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together gently until just combined - don't overmix or your patties will be tough!
  • Divide the mixture into 4-6 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1/2 inch thick. Place them on a plate and refrigerate for 15 minutes to help them hold together better.
  • While the patties chill, in a shallow dish, mix together the remaining 1 cup panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, and salt. This coating is what will make your chicken patties perfectly crispy!
  • Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the coated patties in an even layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they don't overlap. Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy and the internal temperature has reached 165°F (74°C).
  • Let the chicken patties rest for 2-3 minutes before serving. This helps them stay juicy!
